About (Scroll to bottom for Calendar)

Morgantown has two formal groups that are rooted in the traditions of Korean Zen and Kagyu/Nyingma Tibetan Buddhism that offer training passed on from lineages that trace to the Buddha.

Both groups are open to persons of all faiths who want a place to meditate and/or study Buddhist teachings.

Many people go to both groups due to the complimentary nature of the teachings, but an aspiring Buddhist should eventual chose a root tradition that resonates best for them, not for sectarian reasons, but to allow a more structured deeping of one's practice.

There people of other Buddhist traditions in town as well, and it is good that we have chance to meet up!

News

The tulku of Traleg Rinpoche X has been found in Tibet.  Per tradition, the head of the Kagyu lineage had a vision and wrote a prediction letter and a team was dispacted to find the child - just like there is a 14th Dalai Lama, there is now a 10th Traleg Rinpoche!

Barbara Weaner from the Saranam sangha in Elkins (see resources page) is traveling to Tibet in August and will likely get to meet him.

Jim and Julie are going on a stupa tour with Lama Kathy in Colorado at the end of August. E-vam is planning to build a stupa on our land near Crestone starting next spring.

If you have Dharma news to share, please send to Julie.
